    Job Description
    Duties and Responsibilities Cutting up large pieces of unprepared scrap metal into small pieces so they are sized according to mill specs. Required to work in the extreme heat of the summer and the cold of winter and rain. Must be physically fit and able to lift 75 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing Sort/grade/clean various material Qualifications Ability to use torch and torching equipment in a safe manner Ability to understand basic measurements Ability to follow directions Ability to push and pull while sorting materials Ability to use hand tools and power tools The ability to report to work on time and maintain an outstanding attendance record. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving equipment and machinery, scrap materials, and outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly required to wear personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, safety-toe shoes, hardhat, protective eyewear, gloves, and hearing protection. The workload may be unpredictable, and pressure can be substantial during peak times. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and feet to operate crane and shear. The employee is frequently required to walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. All candidates require steel toed boots and must dress appropriately for weather conditions.
