The Mitchell Area Manufacturer's Association was founded to advance the interests of manufacturing in the Mitchell SD area and to develop and promote the exchange of ideas, experiences and practices pertaining to the issues of business management. 

To be a member of the Mitchell Area Manufacturers Association the member must export over 50% of their locally manufactured product out of South Dakota.

Enclose Manufacturing Inc. was founded in 1998. Enclose Manufacturing Inc. is a small sheet metal manufacturing business, located in South Dakota as an OEM manufacturer, of Traffic cabinets and Industrial Enclosures.

Since 1981, Boyds' Gunstock Industries has been one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of wood gun stocks.  Located just outside of Mitchell, Boyds’ Gunstock Industries design and manufacture gunstocks for many well-known firearm companies.  Boyds’ also offers replacement stocks through the website, dealers, and gun shops across the country and around the world. 

Founded in 1965, Toshiba America, Inc. (TAI) is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Toshiba Corporation. Toshiba TABS, Toner Products Division (TPD) has been in Mitchell, SD since 1986. TPD manufactures and sells both Color and Black toners worldwide. 

SD Industries was founded in January 2006 by a team that had previously been in the industry for over 25 years. Their experience in both the hog industry and manufacturing processes laid the foundation for a brand of equipment with superior quality, innovation, and user-friendly features.

Trail King Industries, a local manufacturer of specialty trailers for commercial and construction business offers the largest variety and most diverse product line in the industry. Trail King has been in business in Mitchell since 1977.

Through a scholarship program with Mitchell Technical Institute (MTI) and North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), in conjunction with a paid internship while you're going to school, you'll receive training and hands-on experience required for your career in manufacturing.

Graphic Packaging Corporations Mitchell operation produces high quality folding cartons for the food industry. Graphic Packaging, which is the largest folding carton producer in North America, creates some of the most recognizable packages in the market place. Our cartons are shipped to customers’ filling plants such as Kraft Foods, Schwann’s and Kelloggs.

The Mitchell facility of Hendrickson has been meeting the suspension needs of trailer builders around the world for over 20 years. Hendrickson feels strongly about promoting from within the organization. They offer tuition assistance, on and off-site training, and an internal job posting system for all internal employees. Employees are involved in both the design and delivery of training.                                                                                                                                                   

POET Biorefining, located near Loomis, SD began operations in December 2006. The state-of-the-art ethanol production facility will consume approximately 24 million bushels of locally-grown corn to produce 68 million gallons of ethanol annually. POET Biorefining in Mitchell employs approximately 40 people, enhancing the local economy with improved corn prices, value-added markets for farmers, good-paying jobs, and increased local tax revenue.
