Lake Mitchell and the nearby Missouri River offer an abundance of boating, fishing, swimming and camping opportunities.

Take the family out for a splashing good time at the Mitchell Aquatic Center, where you can swim laps in the 50-meter, 6-lane competition pool or try out the double slide that runs over 100 feet. This waterpark has something for the whole family with zero-depth entry, a water walk, sprayers, slides and more.

FUN OUTDOORS

Lay out the picnic blanket for free outdoor concerts by the Mitchell City Band, or run off energy at any of Mitchell’s 20+ public parks and beaches. including basketball courts, sand volleyball pits, softball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and more.

With five baseball fields, 14 softball fields, five soccer fields, and a skating and hockey arena, there is plenty to keep the sport's enthusiast occupied.

FUN INDOORS

Head indoors for the movies. Luxury 5 Cinemas in Mitchell has 5 screens, one of which is a giant curved screen, putting you right in the middle of the action. Mitchell also has an old-fashion drive-in theater too.

If you like live theater the Mitchell Area Community Theatre  A.C.T. provides quality live theater performances for all ages in the beautiful Pepsi Cola Theatre for the Performing Arts.  Five seasonal productions are performed throughout the year.

Museums, bowling, open gyms, open ice skating, vocal and instrumental concerts, and craft shows. Mitchell offers it all. Check out all of the events and more, on the community calendar.

Annual festivities include the Corn Palace Festival, Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo, Pheasant Country Banquet, Miller Lite Bull Bash, Summer Solstice Arts Festival, Archeology Days and Polka Festival.
